Nicole Ari Parker has worked in television, film and also on stage. Her most well-known role was for playing Teri (the spirited lawyer) Joseph. After her wedding to her husband, she was referred to as Nikki Kodjoe. Her acting talent was evident from childhood. A Maryland high school contest gave her the top actress prize. Apart from her role at the theater and in the ballet company, she was also a part of the Washington Ballet Company. She earned the degree of Acting at New York University. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was her first big role. The film was followed by films like 'Boogie Nights Spark' and Blue Streak. Her appearance on the television show Soul Food' was immensely appreciated. In addition, she was a part of TV Series such as Second Time Around 'and Empire. Prior to that she acted in several stage productions. Parker is also involved in politics, is married to model-actor Boris Kodjoe. The couple has two children.

Contractor, born from Mumbai in India, was raised in Nigeria from the time she was seven. She was already exposed to many different travels and other cultures since a young age. After attending boarding school for seven years in London the family moved to Toronto Canada in which she lived for much of her early years as well as her early years of adulthood. Contractor was a successful academic throughout her time in Toronto and also trained as ballerina. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts. It is a special high-school for the arts, which allowed her to not just learn about theater, but also dance too. At the age of 16, after nearly 10 years of dance Contractor discovered she was looking to take up acting as a profession. She accepted a full-scholarship to pursue a degree at the University of Toronto after graduating. She earned a master's degree in theater as well as a double major in sociology and psychology. Following a semester at the University, Contractor went to an audition on a call-to-action basis for the play Pericles at the world-class famous, world-class Stratford Shakespeare Festival [Ontario, Canada and landed the leading role. The play received rave reviews and her performance on the stage in 92 productions. this play, which was named as the best production by Canadian critics in 2002. Contractor accepted an invitation to join Stratford's Conservatory. Only eight men selected and four females are admitted to a course of 20 weeks of classical theater. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she got the part of Hermia in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
